How do I add a habit?

Adding a habit takes about ten seconds.

  1. Open HabitFund and tap the + button on the home screen.
  2. Give your habit a short name (for example, "Morning walk" or "Read 10 pages").
  3. Pick the days you want to do it — every day, weekdays, or your own schedule.
  4. Optional: set a micro-savings amount in £ (more on that below).
  5. Tap Save. Your habit will appear on your home screen, ready to be checked off.

You can edit or remove a habit any time by tapping it and choosing Edit.

How do micro-savings work?

Micro-savings are a gentle way to give each habit a real-world reward. When you set up a habit, you can attach a small amount in pounds — anything from £0.20 to £5 works well. Every time you mark that habit done, HabitFund adds the amount to your fund.

For example:

  • Morning walk — £1 per day done
  • No phone after 9pm — £2 per day done
  • Stretch 5 minutes — £0.50 per day done

At the end of the week or month, you'll see the total your habits have earned. Many people then move that amount from their bank account into a savings pot or a cause they care about.

Important: HabitFund tracks the amounts you log — it does not move real money on your behalf. You stay in control of your bank account at all times.
How do I delete my account?

You can delete your HabitFund account from inside the app at any time.

  1. Open HabitFund and tap your profile icon in the top right.
  2. Choose Settings, then Account.
  3. Tap Delete account and confirm.

Your habits, savings goals, and account details will be removed from our systems within 30 days. If you would like to download your data first, choose Export my data on the same screen.

If you can't access the app for any reason, email us at hello@vitalriver.net from the address linked to your account and we'll handle it for you.

Is my data safe?

Yes — keeping your data safe is one of the things we care about most.

  • Your habits and savings goals are stored on Firebase, Google's secure cloud platform.
  • Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS / TLS) and at rest.
  • We never sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.
  • Only the essential data needed to run HabitFund is collected — nothing extra.
  • You can export or delete your data from inside the app at any time.

For the full details of what we store and your rights under UK GDPR, please read our privacy policy.

Which Android versions are supported?

HabitFund supports Android 9 (Pie) and later. That covers the vast majority of phones in active use today.

If you're not sure which version you have, open Settings on your phone, then About phone → Android version.

HabitFund is designed for phones, but it also runs well on Android tablets and foldables. We don't currently support Wear OS — let us know if that would be useful to you.
